All good. We are sitting in front of the fire with a glass of wine and a cheese platter, contemplating who will put the steak on the barbeque for dinner after watching the sunset reflecting on the escarpment.
Nestled on the side of a hill amongst five acres of native garden and rainforest, Budderoo will take your breath away upon arrival. The uniquely designed building provides 270-degree views from its elongated all-glass living/dining/kitchen area looking out to the surrounding mountains and escarpments. A northeasterly deck makes the most of the sun and the direct view to Budderoo Escarpment whilst the covered south facing deck with additional lounge and dining is the ultimate shaded escape in summer. Whether you are watching the mist and cloud roll up through the valley to unveil the view or you are marvelling at the muted pink sunset tones reflecting off the escarpments, you cannot help but be captivated by this ever changing but ever present view.
The massive, centrally featured, double sided Jetmaster slow combustion fireplace - firewood provided from May to September - will keep you warm in winter whilst air-conditioning, ceiling fans and louvre windows top and bottom of the floor to ceiling glass allowing a delightful breeze through will keep you cool in summer. The state of the art Bluetooth sound system allows you to have your own music to compliment the mood. The kitchen is fully equipped with all mod cons and the essentials for you to cook up a storm and entertain in style. A Nespresso coffee machine is also provided; BYO coffee pods.
The two large Balinese lounges in the living room provide an excellent spot to sit back and relax, read a book or enjoy a glass of wine in front of the fire.

Amazing and comfortable

Fran - 12th February 2024

The living space was amazing, with the 270 degree views of the valley and garden. Big windows, with the trees close to patio that the birds loved (especially yellow tailed Black cockatoos) and comfortable lounges made it perfect spot to relax, chat and watch the changing weather....especially the sunsets!!

Just so incredibly relaxing!

Sheryn - 14th August 2023

Just so incredibly relaxing! From the 270 degree views, to the well equipped home and the fantastic gathering spaces, we had a wonderful long weekend. The double fronted fire, the great space for the dog to run and the social kitchen made each day special. We arrived Friday and didn’t leave again until check out. That right there is what a weekend away with friends is all about.

Quiet, secluded and relaxing

Christabel - 1st August 2023

Quiet secluded and relaxing, beautiful views throughout the day through the glass living room and the added bonus of lighting throughout the Australian native garden at night was beautiful. Having Netflix an added bonus.

Fantastic House

KerriGarry - 28th September 2020

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was fantastic. The house has everything you require. Beds were comfortable with quality linen, Kitchen facilities were great with wonderful pantry items. We stayed in early September (group of friends) and we had no issue with the house being cold - ample heating and the fire is a delight. The open bedroom is fine it did not bother us & with the divider it is private enough. We did not turn the TV on once as we had so much fun hanging on the deck or at the large table playing games by the fire. The view is breathtaking and make sure you go up to the artists cottage at dusk for a wine and light the fire pit for a change of scenery. There is abundant birdlife around the property and we saw a few wallabies. Make sure you check out the change in the colour of the escarpment at golden hour & get out at night to look at the stars. I have nothing but great things to say about this house and Kangaroo Valley Getaways are always great to deal with. Road up to property may be a bit tricky at night and Adam said they were going to look at the driveway as it has washed away a bit. Nothing major. We will be back for sure......

Great Location but cold house

JoyLes - 8th June 2019

House is located close to the town but far enough away to fell like you are in the bush. Listing shows as 3 bedrooms but one of these is a Queen bed in the "lounge room" which does not afford much privacy (not that it effected us as we are just a couple). This 3rd bedroom also has the only TV in the house and the TV can only reasonably be viewed from the bed as the lounge is too far away. We were there in June and found the house to be very cold. Yes there is a fireplace but even with it and the gas heater going was still cold. The bedroom/TV area did have air conditioning so we spent the nights there. Would be a good location during summer when you can use the outdoor area and BBQ. There are a few minor things that need to be fixed like broken toilet roll holder, etc but they do not detract from the experience. We did have an issue with the hot water in that it tripped at the meter box several times and as such we only had luke warm showers. Reported to the agent and they were going to get repaired. Driveway is gravel as easily accessed in a standard 2wd sedan.

Relaxing scenic retreat from the world

GVTravellers - 3rd July 2018

We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay as a couple for one week in June at Budderoo. The views from the living room windows and deck areas are stunning. We felt immersed in nature and at peace in this little part of paradise as soon as we arrived. The house with its large living area would be also suitable for families with young children or teenagers, with plenty of space to relax, play around, on (or under), the large day beds inside, or out on the decks or the garden area outside. There is also reading material and a well stocked cupboard of board games for young and old. There is a well equipped kitchen for easy meal preparation (no microwave) and quality crockery and seating for an intimate meal or large family gathering around the dining table in front of the open fire, which we enjoyed. Plenty of fire wood, gas heating and reverse cycle air conditioning created a warm environment for our midwinter stay. Comfortable new bedding ensured a good night's sleep and there is a cosy lounge with TV where you can snuggle up with a book, watch TV or enjoy the DVDs provided after a busy day exploring the local area. The bathroom and toilet are a little rustic, but plenty of hot water, soft towels, toiletries and heat lamps compensated for this. There is also the outdoor bath and shower to experience for those who stay in warmer weather. We were the first paying guests to stay since the property has been taken on by Kangaroo Valley Getaways. The property managers Adam and Alyssa were very approachable and helpful in following up any queries and issues that arose during our stay. They are planning further improvements to the house to make it an even better experience for those staying in the future. The road to the property, whilst quite narrow, is suitable for low clearance vehicles. We recommend to drive carefully and watch out for other vehicles and wildlife as we had a very close encounter with a wombat with little road sense one night when driving into KV for dinner. Surprisingly my Optus service worked well, but my partner's Telstra service was patchy. But who needs technology when escaping from the world...
