Cabbage Tree Farm is, literally, at the end of the road. It is located just above the Yarrawa Estate Winery, providing the chance for a Saturday afternoon walk down the road for wine tasting with Mark and Sue Foster.
The house has an enormous deck with outdoor lounges, a table for lunching or dining and a barbecue. While one can sit on the deck and enjoy the views of the surrounding rainforest. The 3 bedroom/2 bathroom house also has the city comforts of Wifi, television, telephone and modern kitchen complete with Nespresso coffee machine, as well as a cosyfireplace (firewood provided from May-September).
For the more adventurous this large property (19 hectares or 48 acres) provides the opportunity for serious bush-walking up towards the escarpment - the site of bullock tracks from more than 100 years ago used to bring out the precious red Cedar trees - a magnificent sample of which still stands off to the right from the deck. Some of the rainforest plants and ferns one finds look as if they have been untouched for centuries.
Alternatively, one can walk or cycle down to the winery then further down Upper River Road, past the Kangaroo Valley community hall and working dairy farms into the charming little village of Kangaroo Valley.
In terms of serenity, seclusion and tranquillity, this property is unbeatable.
Please note - Cabbage Tree Farm is great for couples or small groups of up to six but please note it does not accommodate small children.
